New Orleans City & Cemetery Tour | Gray Line New Orleans

New Orleans City & Cemetery Tour

Travel Through Three Centuries of history, legends, and romance as you encounter “The City That Care Forgot!”

Hop-on this tour to see over 25 square miles of New Orleans!

Absorb the sights & sounds of the world-famous French Quarter and historic Jackson Square (Place d’ Armes), home of the Cabildo and Presbytere Museums.

Travel through 15 historic neighborhoods, such as Treme & Faubourg Marigny, and learn about their cultures and people – both past and present.

Marvel at stories of voodoo and piracy on Bayou St. John, a waterway used by Jean Lafitte and his band of pirates, as we make our way to a stop at City Park, one of the ten largest urban parks in America, filled with live oak trees hundreds of years old.

Enjoy some delicious beignets (French doughnuts) at Café du Monde (optional; cost not included in tour price) or just relax for a few minutes until your tour continues across the city.

We’ll then make our way to the shores of Lake Pontchartrain, where you can view the longest bridge over water in the world – the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway!  You’ll also see the New Basin Canal Lighthouse that was damaged during Hurricane Katrina and then rebuilt.

Visit one of our historic cemeteries, referred to as “Cities of the Dead,” and learn about this unique above-ground burial system from your tour guide.

Follow the path of the St. Charles Avenue streetcar, the oldest continuously operating passenger railway system in the world (until service was disrupted by Hurricane Katrina).

View Tulane and Loyola Universities across from Audubon Park, home to one of the top five zoos in the nation and a favorite site in the City, the Audubon Zoo.

A city tour would not be complete without viewing the homes of former Kings & Queens of Mardi Gras, stately mansions and the world-famous, exclusive Garden District.

Includes narrated motorcoach tour and 3 stops.
