Christmas Eve Bonfire Adventure | Gray Line New Orleans

Christmas Eve Bonfire Adventure Tour

Celebrate a time-honored Louisiana tradition - the lighting of the bonfires on the banks of the Mississippi River!  The Bonfire Adventure Tour includes round-trip narrated motor coach transportation and a guided tour of the San Francisco Plantation, built in 1855 and reported to be the most opulent plantation house in North America. It is a galleried house of the Creole open suite style, nestled under centuries-old Live Oaks and contains one of the finest antique collections in the country.  This house inspired the novel “Steamboat Gothic” written by Frances Parkinson Keyes. A traditional Christmas dinner will be served on the property.

Board our “sleigh of coaches” to view the bonfires that light the way for Papa Noel (our Cajun Santa Claus) to bayou country.  For many years this Cajun community has built mammoth wooden structures such as cabins, tepees, & riverboats along the Mississippi River levee.  Come see the "feux de joie" (fires of joy)! [Some walking is necessary.]

Cost includes the guided motor coach tour, group escort, eggnog, a guided plantation tour, dinner, taxes, meal gratuities, and a surprise souvenir.

Menu includes: Fried Turkey, Smoked Pork Loin, Corn Bread Dressing, Sweet Potato Soufflé, Haricots Verts (Green Beans), Giblet Gravy, Cranberry Sauce, Yeast Roll, Homemade Bread Pudding, Soft Drink/Water/Tea/Coffee Station.  Vegetable Lasagna dishes are available but must be reserved one week in advance of event. A Full Cash Bar (liquor, wine & beer) will be available.

NOTE: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes as there is a walk to the bonfires of approximately 3 blocks (¼ mile) and a slight incline.
