Katrina Tour
Gray Line New Orleans continues to give back to the community in a variety of ways. Currently the Gray Line Katrina Tour, still a tour that is sought out by visitors and returning locals, supplies water funding to the Levee Memorial Rain Garden, and donates a portion of every ticket to lowernine.org. Who is lowernine.org? It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the long-term recovery of the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans, in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and the levee breaches of 2005. The Lower Ninth Ward has been much slower to recover than other areas of New Orleans. Rick Prose and his band of volunteers grew a training and rebuilding organization that became lowernine.org. They have fully rebuilt seventy-five homes, with hundreds of smaller projects and renovations completed.
